Bayline Construction, Inc., San Jose, CA

Provide effective leadership for this firm with four operations throughout Northern California, and $100M in annual sales. Work in close concert with senior executives and key personnel across the company.

 

ACHIEVEMENTS & RESULTS

Found $1.1M of billable orders that were never billed to customers by installing a sales order system used in effectively managing multi-million dollar contracts.

Created savings of $5M on loss locations and customers by discovering which customers and locations were profitable. This reduced work-in-progress inventory levels from  $20M to $10M with just in time shipments by implementing a Job Costing and Work-In-Progress System.

Improved A/R collection cycle from an average of 75 DSO to current 35 DSO by reengineering billing process resulting in elimination of costly errors and higher billing accuracy.

Reduced monthly financial statements preparation from 60 days to 5 days by successfully combining separate non-integrated financial systems at 4 locations into 1 integrated system.

Obtained new financing supporting rapid growth at all locations by taking a leading role in company expansion efforts, utilized negotiating and relationship.

Helped sales grow from $16M to $36M by reengineering all aspects of company processes and management model to an Enterprise-wide online ASP system.

Saved $750K in low lead advertising rates in first year of systems implementation.

  Secured company's first ten customers by replacing OEM parts with company-made parts, sales $0-10M in first 18 months.

Created next $10M of sales by developing new product lines where our in-house parts replaced slower OEM parts increasing our customer's fabrication throughput.

Gained the last $5M of revenues by outsourcing large customer's world-wide fragmented training programs with our unified programs.

Worked closely with client engineering and process managers to identify and incorporate required specifications to save clients significant operational cash flow through ability to outsource resources and capabilities.

Introduce methodologies, improve systems and manage new product development initiatives for this high-tech infrastructure development & manufacturing firm of 200 employees and $50M annual sales.

 

ACHIEVEMENTS & RESULTS

Acquired two companies adding $15M worth of increased sales revenues. Led and directed acquisition activities, including analyzing acquisition target's financial health, process and operational infrastructure, benefits and insurance programs and existing client base.

Secured $20,000,000 credit base through acquisition strategy development and acquired two international companies to leverage existing technological resources and intellectual properties into higher net profits. Both acquisition companies were then used to build the parent company's products reducing cost of goods sold by 25% in first year after acquisition.

Repackaged acquired companies for subsequent sale to large domestic public companies. Renegotiated all contracts, analyzed and authored strategic plans, oversaw process from inception through completion; transferred key product lines to offshore foundries operating in Korea and Pacific Rim. Sold acquired companies for 150% purchase price, profit of $10M.
